Sensible
Rates & Terms
Our rates are "sensible" and are aimed
at providing value-added services at a reasonable cost.
By contracting with SCS for services you are agreeing
to the SCS terms and conditions including (1) payments are expected
within 15 days from the billing/statement date, (2) payment of currently
posted hourly rates, and (3) accepting invoices and statements via
email as PDF file attachments.
As of February 1, 2007, the rates are:
In Shop Service (Client delivers to and picks
up from SCS service location)
Bench services are billed at $45 per hour with
a one-hour minimum. Inventoried parts, if any, are billed
at cost plus sales tax. We will acquire necessary parts and
bill the expense as reimbursements items at our actual cost plus
10% or $10.00 (whichever is higher), or advise clients of what needs
to be purchased and include specifications and supply sources.
Time charges beyond one hour are billed in one-quarter
hour increments.
Services before 8 AM or after 5 PM weekdays and
on Saturdays, incur a 50% surcharge. Services on Sundays and
holidays incur a 100% surcharge (twice the weekday rate)..
Equipment pickup and delivery can be ar ranged..
Time (at $45 per hour) and mileage charges will be added.
On Site Services ( for clients within 30
miles from office location)
On site time is billed at $65 per hour with a
one-hour minimum. Parts costs will be billed as described
under "In Shop Service". Round trip mileage
will be charged at the maximum IRS allowable rate which is currently
58.5 cents per mile. All additional charges such as parking,
tolls, etc., will be added. Time charges beyond one
hour are billed in one-quarter hour increments.

Telephone and Email Support
These services are available only to clients with
established and current accounts. If your account is pro
forma you must first establish a credit balance upon which to draw
and if you do not have an account you must first establish one.
Time is billed in five-minute increments at $45
per hour during normal business hours 8AM - 5PM weekdays.
Telephone and email support services before 8AM or after 5PM weekdays
and on Saturdays incur a 50% surcharge. Telephone and
email support services on Sundays and holidays incur a 100% surcharge.
Charges apply to all telephone, email, research and all other
support services that are not provided on site. Charges
appear on month-end statements as "Miscellaneous Support Services"
and are documented by invoice details.
Scheduled maintenance
On site scheduled maintenance is billed at bench
rates (currently $45 per hour) to encourage regular system inspections,
operating system and applications updates, updating and running
utilities, and other activities to help early problem detection
and prevention. Minimum time charge for this service is two
hours and to qualify for the reduced on site rate the appointment
must be scheduled at least three working days before the service
date. Maintenance services before 8 AM or after 5 PM weekdays
and on Saturdays incur a 50% surcharge. Maintenance
services on Sundays and holidays incur a 100% surcharge (twice the
normal weekday rate).
Web site creation and maintenance
Time is billed in five minute increments,
no minimum, at $45 per hour.
Sensible Terms
Invoices and statements are emailed at the beginning
of the month after which charges are incurred. Our credit terms
are "payable upon receipt of statement". If
payment is not received within 15 days of the billing date the account
will be placed on hold and further services will not be provided
until the account is current.
Finance or statement charge: A finance
charge of 1.5% (minimum of $5.00) or statement charge of $5.00 will
be assessed on all balances over 30 days, or a statement charge
of $5.00 per month will be charged on past due balances (whichever
is greater).
Effective 2/1/08: SCS will
not email statements and invoices to "public" email addresses
such as yahoo.com, hotmail.net, aol.com, and any other email service
SCS considers unreliable and restrictive in terms of permissible
attachments. These services have a poor delivery histories
and too often block attachments. If mailing printed copies
becomes necessary SCS will impose a $2.00 preparation and mailing
fee for sending statements and invoices via regular postal mail.
Clients not on a open account terms are expected
to pay for services via check or cash upon completion of services.
If any account becomes delinquent -- over 60 days
past due -- SCS will, at its option, begin collection procedures
with all costs related to the collection action assessed to the
client. Further credit will not be granted but services may,
at SCS's option, be provided on a pro forma basis. SCS is
a computer services company, not a collection agency.
New Clients
Before services will be provided an account must
be established.. No email or telephone support will be provided
until an account is established.
